Isnt she gorgeous?

This is my Li Li.

Li Li is a very beautiful Pomaranian who was rescued by the breeder from a very bad kiwi owners home. She had been badly mistreated, several times pregnant to another of the owners dogs. When the breeder took her back her coat was falling out in clumps.

The vet took one look and said it would be kinder to put her down but the breeder refused. The vet desexed her which was hoped would cure the mange causing the bad hair loss.

Full marks to the breeder for persisting. The breeder had heard of Xiaoli and I and the fact that we already had 2 rescued Pomaranians. We agreed to take her on.

We collected Li Li from the breeder just north of Auckland for the 4.5 hour drive home. The poor girl was chronically sick very early on. We were unsure what to do as it was a long trip so in the end she sat wrapped in a towel on my lap as I drove.

I am not sure how long we have had Li Li now but it must be about 3 years. At night she sleeps on the bed beside my shoulder. She will turn from one side to another but never leaves my shoulder. At the most if its cold she may duck under the blankets.

In the morning she will not get up until I do. If Xiaoli gets near to put her out to the toilet you hear the little growl start. She says until dad gets up I dont move.

In the car she insists on just going to sleep on my lap. Never gets car sick now. Her tail wags. She goes almost everywhere I do. I move then she moves.

We are told Pomeranians can be vicious. All 4 of ours are so friendly its not funny. They have been taught that our customers must be treated right. They all love kids yet none of them when we got them was very sure about kids.

Li Li has a very special place in our house because of her early up bringing. She chose me, I did not choose her but we have bonded.

I had never had small dogs until Xiaoli came into my life. Never wanted a small one but I would not trade Li Li or the other 3 for a big dog anytime. They are just gorgeous people dogs

Isnt she gorgeous?

Sunset – Ninety Mile Beach New Zealand

20170524_173022

Sunsets in the far north of New Zealand can be absolutely beautiful. This one I took on the cell phone as I stood on Ninety Mile Beach.

We live here. Can watch these out of our window if you dont want to go stand on the beach. Million dollar views they call it from our holiday accommodation we rent to visiting international tourists.

Come visit us when you come to New Zealand. Even better, come tour the country with us

Our farm park slowly coming together

20170522_155329

Time at home base is a luxury for me as a tour guide. Xiaoli and I have this dream of one day having our own farm park. But its a dream in the distance but we never let it die away.

Our feathered friends have always been early on the scene and this week we added 4 Golden Pheasants. 2 males and 2 females currently sharing an aviary with some of our other birds. Given time I will construct each pair their own area.

A tour guides life is never dole. When no doing tours around New Zealand I seem to be full on planning the future. We both have dreams and in the last few days I documented them so we can prioritise and never lose sight of the road ahead.

The farm park is one of our further away dreams but it is slowly taking shape. But I cannot see if being opened to the public in the near future.

For us, our future is to build the tour business into a larger family business. Our children are grown up and our dream is one day we have a business they may wish to join us in. I dont think the maturity is there in our children yet to bring into the business. They need experience what the world offers and find their own direction. They must have the opportunity to find their own dreams as we have. Hopefully their dream may be joining with us, if not I guess we need rely on staff. and our own abilities

Children I believe must be allowed to find their own feet so to speak.

Today business, tomorrow fishing

Today I designed new business cards – Tomorrow we go fishing

A quiet time of year for tours in New Zealand, but work never finishes.

I have just spent the last week spending many hours on the computer getting our name out there and trying to find new agents for Peter and Xiaoli Tours. Have I been successful, I have no idea yet. It may take some time for the real effects of my efforts to be seen.

We have people China and Hong Kong talking to us we that we have not had contact with before. Vietnam and Sri Lanka people have talked to s in recent times. It appears things are falling in place. Come summer I may regret pushing growth so hard but I have a 4 year plan which is going to entail me pushing myself to the limits at times. But for a reason.

Redesigned our business card today. No major change but needed add our new website plus have made the rear of the card match in with signage we utilise on vehicles now. Need everything to link together. Approved the proof the printer sent through which obviously I was going to as I did the artwork.  Now wait the printing.

Next scheduled tour a 3 day Northland tour with 11 June 3rd to 5th. Northland tours are a lot easier for me as I get day 2 off and at home why the guests go on the beach bus. Mind you I need that rest as at the start and conclusion I have a 5 hour drive to collect the group Auckland and the same again when I drop them off.

The next 4 days perfect for fishing our beautiful Ninety Mile Beach so 6am tomorrow we are and off. There is no question we will catch dinner but how many dinners is the question. Sashimi – yum
